Investigators are looking into the death of an inmate found dead this morning at the Roanoke City Jaill.
Deputies say 37-year-old Darryl Anthony Moyer of Roanoke apparently hanged himself with pieces of his bed sheet.
Rescue crews tried to revive Moyer, but he was later pronounced dead at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Moyer was recently convicted on federal drug and weapons charges, and was facing up to 10-years in prison.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

City officials say 14 buildings have been condemned and nine families displaced due to the blaze.
The flames destroyed a five-story apartment building under construction and several homes a few blocks away.
Property damage from the fire is estimated at 20 million dollars.
That figure is expected to rise while many property owners in the area continue to assess the wreckage.
V-C-U officials say despite the damage to some of their facilities, overall they are feeling lucky.

The F-18 jet was on a training mission when it crashed in a rural area of South Tennessee. The pilot was able to parachute to safety.
Tonight military officials are on the way to the crash site to investigate.

And a Navy F-14 Tomcat Fighter crashes off the San Diego coast.
The Coast Guard confirms the two pilots have been rescued.
The F-14 had been performing flight operations with a carrier. Private fishermen rescued the two pilots about three miles off the coast.

A Virginia Tech student fell out of a third story window and was injured Saturday night.

Blacksburg police were responding to a call about a loud party when they found 24 year old Brian Allen on the ground.
Allen fell out of a third floor window.
He was treated and released from Montgomery Regional Hospital for minor injuries.
Police say alcohol was a factor.
Allen is the 12th person to have a major fall, on or near the Tech campus, in the last six months.

(( The three women and nine men deciding the fate of former Tyco executives Dennis Kozlowski and Mark Swartz spent another day fighting it out in the jury room. Monday afternoon a judge rejected a motion by the defense to declare a mistrial after one juror's misstep.
State Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus said he spoke with the juror who was identified by name in a New York paper over the weekend. The woman who the paper called "a paranoid socialite" and a "batty blue blood" said she was prepared to continue deliberations in good conscience. On Friday that juror appeared to have flashed an "OK" sign to the defense.

An Oscar winning actor has passed away.

Peter Ustinov (Yous-tin-off) died last night at his home in Switzerland.
His career spanned more than 60 years. He won his first Oscar for his supporting role in the film Spartacus.
Ustinov was also well known for his humanitarian work with the U-N.
He served his last years as a goodwill ambassador for the U-N children's fund.
Peter Ustinov was 82.
