Police in Patrick County are searching for a missing 14 year old girl. Brittany Bibee was last seen in the Charity Community yesterday afternoon, headed west along route 40.
Search dogs were brought in yesterday, but they found no sign of the girl. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a yellow shirt.

Fire destroyed a Roanoke home yesterday while the family was at church.

Firefighters responded to this home on Roy Drive just before Noon, after an off-duty fire fighter saw the flames and called 9-11. Part of the ceiling fell on three firefighters inside, but they were not injured. Crews had to run 800- feet of hose up a steep road to reach the house while battling the wind.

Actor Mickey Rooney picked up a special award over the weekend at the National D-Day Memorial.

He was joined by friends, family and fans at the D- Day Memorial yesterday afternoon. Rooney served four years in the Army during World War Two. Yesterday, D- Day Veteran Bob Slaughter presented him with an award for his service and thanked him for serving the troops as an entertainer on the front lines. Rooney earned a bronze star for heroism- which he says is his most precious award. He encourages everyone to take pride in their country.

Two men are in custody for a pair of recent Tazewell County convenience store robberies. The latest was late Saturday night at the Cargo Convenience Store in Tazewell.

[TAKE NEWBERRY FS] A short time later, police say they stopped 23 year old Dwight David Newberry of Raven and found items connected with the robbery in the car. [TAKE BROWN FS] Deputies say 23-year-old Kevin Ray Brown fled the scene on foot, and was captured hours later after a search that included a bloodhound and a helicopter.
