Roanoke County police have charged an 82-year old man with murdering his wife.
Officers say on Sunday family members found the body of 83-year old Neva Underwood Hurt in the living room of her Parkwood Drive home.
William Wallace Hurt was found unconscious in the basement of the home and was taken to an area hospital.

Government officials say consumer prices rose one- half of one percent in March, boosted by rising costs for gas, air fares and clothing.
Economists say it was a bigger rise than they were expecting.
They say combined with other recent economic data, today's news may put additional pressure on the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates this year.

Yesterday, a California appeals court refused to lift a gag order imposed in the case.

Both are now being held at the jail.

An operation to put the world's smallest pacemaker inside a baby has been a success.

Doctors at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa had to perform surgery within 30 minutes of Kerrick Walker's birth. Kerrick was born with his heart on the wrong side of his chest.
He also had numerous other problems, including holes in his heart and a low pulse rate. The pacemaker is only the size of a quarter, but doctors say the weight of it on Kerrick's heart would make it hard for him to breath, so it was implanted in his stomach.

Those fans were disappointed back in January when the Houston Astros decided to move its Appalachian League affiliate to Greeneville Tennessee.
That left the city little time to find a replacement and so for the first time in fifteen years there will be no Appalachian League team in Martinsville.
