What began as a dirt track in 1947 with less than 800 seats has now grown into a multi- million dollar business in Southside. Today the Martinsville Speedway hosted the Advance Auto Parts 500, but as Jennifer Wishon reports, it's Southside businesses who are taking home the checkered flag.

Raceway Ministries is an organization made up of Southern Baptist churches in Martinsville and Henry County. The group has been ministering at the Martinsville Speedway for 13 years. Founder John Fox moved to the area about 14- years ago. He says he got the idea after getting stuck in race- traffic one April Sunday.

A bus carrying a soccer team from North Carolina overturned earlier today outside of Paris, killing one passenger and injuring nearly two dozen others.

13 year old Matt Helms of Jacksonville, North Carolina died in the crash, and three others were seriously hurt. The part of the Olympic Development Program, and the team had been playing in an international tournament in Western France. Colorado Rockies baseball player Larry Walker found a body on his property near Evergreen, Colorado today.

Walker called authorities this morning saying he found what he believed to be a body in a wooded area on his property.
Investigators say the body is that of an adult male and appears to have been at the location for some time. Police are investigating and don't know yet how the person died or if the person was killed at the location or brought there from somewhere else. Authorities say Walker is cooperating.

At least three boats sunk in Smith Mountain Lake this weekend, but fire officials say that's not unusual.

Yesterday fire officials were called to Lake Haven Marina where this boat was at the bottom of the lake. A crane was attached to the boat and divers were called in to help pump the water. Meteorologists say downburst winds hit 90 to 100 miles per hour -- knocking down trees and damaging buildings. Several large trees toppled onto houses and split the roof. In Niagara Falls, the roof of a middle school was damaged and a lightning strike apparently touched off a fire at a pet supply store. Hail was also reported in Syracuse as the storms continued eastward across the state.

Sammy moved ahead of Ernie Banks and became the Chicago Cubs' all-time home-run leader when he connected on this solo shot in the first inning. The homer, off Paul Wilson, was Sosa's 513th with the Cubs. He later hit another solo shot off Wilson in the third inning.

Not a good day for the Braves and in particular Chipper Jones. Florida's Luis Castillo led off the sixth inning with a drive to the gap in left-center. Jones lunged for the ball near the wall, then collapsed on the warning track after failing to make the catch. The left fielder immediately grabbed his right hamstring, which was initially hurt a week earlier in a game against the Cubs. The hamstring wasn't a problem in the first two games against the Marlins as he homered in each.
