Three months ago, Mount Moriah Baptist Church was struck by vandals. Today the congregation said "thank you" to the dozens of people who helped them clean up. As Jennifer Wishon reports, the crime has only strengthened the spirit of a church more than a hundred years old.

Three people have been found shot to death in a mobile home in Stuart's Draft. The Augusta County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that a man and two women were found dead, apparently of gunshot wounds this morning at the home on Stuarts Draft Highway. Authorities say they will NOT identify the three until relatives have been notified.

Carroll County authorities have arrested a man on malicious wounding charges after he allegedly shot his wife in the head. Deputies arrested Kenneth Early Horton today and charged him with malicious wounding, firearms charges, and possession of methamphetamines. Authorities say Horton shot his wife Robynn in the head yesterday. She was airlifted to the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem and is in stable condition. Kenneth Horton is being held at the New River Valley Jail without bond.

A standoff in Franklin County ended with the arrest of one man. 36-year-old Robert Keith Browning was arrested around 2:30 this morning, after authorities say he assaulted his girlfriend and fired shots inside their home on Grassy Hill Road.
Officers say Browning was holed up inside the home for more than three hours, before a SWAT team went in and arrested him. Browning now faces two firearms charges. He's being held inside the Franklin County jail under NO bond.

A Rocky Mount man is suing the town's police department, claiming he was mistreated by officers.

Samuel St. Clair says he was roughed up and humiliated by officers last November, when they were called to his home for a domestic dispute. The proposal will likely include a sales tax increase, and an offer to cap the state's car tax reimbursements to localities. Estee lauder died yesterday at the age of 97. A spokeswoman says Lauder suffered a cardio-pulmonary arrest at her home in Manhattan. Estee Lauder companies began in the 1920s as a kitchen business that blended face creams. Today it is an international cosmetics empire worth nearly 5-BILLION dollars. Lauder is also credited for some of today's common marketing techniques, like testing before you buy ... free samples ... and providing gifts with purchases.

This is his third car accident in two years.

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that Victor Conte (Con-tee) told investigators he gave steroids to Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery in exchange for endorsements of a nutritional supplement. Attorneys for both Jones and Conte deny the story. Jones and her boyfriend Montgomery both testified last fall before a federal grand jury that indicted Conte and three others. They've repeatedly denied steroid use.

The Virginia Tech golf team came up short in its bid to win a fourth straight Big East Tournament today, losing to host Notre Dame by 6 shots. There was some good news though as Amherst County's Ryan Stinnett won medalist honors and teammate Matt Hollerbach finished 2nd.

Roanoke College has its 5th ODAC Tournament softball title in 6 years after beating Virginia Wesleyan.

It was 3-all in the 5th when Roanoke's Amy Zachary smacks a bouncer back up the middle scoring Veronica Kelly from third. That would be the game winner.

Hundreds of people hit the streets of Sherman Oaks, California in high heels this weekend...

but most of them were men. It wasn't for kicks but for the fourth annual "Walk A Mile in Her Shoes" parade.
The event raises money to prevent rape, sexual assault and violence against women. The male participants admit walking a mile in high heels is awkward and a bit painful but if it raises awareness of gender violence then it's worth every minute.
