Police in Radford have issued an arrest warrant in the robbery and shooting incident on Downey street earlier this week. Aamir Darrin Lewis Brown is wanted on capital murder charges. Police say he is considered armed and dangerous.

Private First Class Lynndie England is accused of assaulting Iraqi detainees, conspiring with Specialist Charles Graner to mistreat prisoners and committing an indecent act.
England's family says she is four months pregnant with Graners child, and is being made a scapegoat.

The images of Iraqi abuse and humiliation surfaced a week ago on C-B-S, and Rumsfeld says those were only the beginning -- he warned lawmakers that worse photos AND video exist. So far 17 soldiers have been removed from duty and six of them are facing court martial for their part.

A worker who fell off a house in Bedford yesterday has died.
Police say 47-year-old Sanford Lewis of Lynchburg was fixing a roof when he slipped and fell, landing on a concrete driveway.
He died last night at Carilion-Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Lewis worked for Liberty Home Improvements in Lynchburg.

A longtime Patrick County dog-breeder is appealing a conviction on animal cruelty charges. Clarence Foley was today found guilty in general district court of performing a cesarean sections on two dogs without anesthesia.

Opponents of a proposed AEP powerline still have not given up their fight.
The Sierra Club plans to file a lawsuit to overturn AEP's permit to build the line across national forest land.
The 765 kilo-volt line would run from Wyoming County West Virginia to Jackson's Ferry in Wythe County.
The Sierra Club says the forest service's 2002 decision to allow the line to cross public land violates federal law and forest service regulations.

A pilot from Waynesboro had to make an emergency landing in Bedford County this morning, after his home built plane developed engine trouble.

Pilot Jerry Bass and his passenger weren' t injured as the two-seater landed on Heathwood Drive.
But the plane was damaged when it drifted into the grass and tipped onto its nose.
Bass built the experimental plane himself, and has logged 165 hours in the cockpit. Unsure of what caused the problem, Bass planned to haul the damaged plane home by truck.

Virginia veterans will soon have access to more outpatient services.
The Department of Veterans Affairs announced plans today for 13 new outpatient clinics in the state, including facilities in Radford, Lynchburg and Staunton.
Medical Centers in both Richmond and Hampton will also undergo expansion and renovations.
This is all part of the V-A's plan to modernize and improve its healthcare facilities nationwide.

The NCAA regional softball tournament opened today in Salem at the Moyer complex with Averett losing to Bethany College in the opener of the double elimination event 2-to-nothing.

The final game of day one would pit host Roanoke College against Atlanta's Emory College. The the visitors from downtown Hotlanta would score in the top of the first as Mary Nicol rips one into left field plating Betsy Bruinsma. It's 1-to-nothing Emory. But Roanoke would come back in its half of the frame. Amy Alexander slaps one hard into left field herself to give the Noke a baserunner. Later in the inning, Kim Rowe - the Maroons' slugger from Hampton will groove one over the center field fence.

The two run homer puts Roanoke on top and the Maroons hang on to win it 4 to 3.
