Lightning briefly knocked out flights in and out of Roanoke's airport this evening.

Airport officials say that several lightning strikes knocked out the runway lights shortly before 9 o'clock, and lasted for about an hour. And the disruption is expected to affect travel throughout the night. Anyone with questions about a specific flight are being asked to call their airline, and not the airport offices.

The Maroons then came back this afternoon to face Muskingum, and for the second straight day, Roanoke fell to the Muskies, losing 5 to 1. Muskingum returns to Salem next Friday for the championship.
