It's a ravenous predator that can terrorize marine life and walk out of the water.
Now a snakehead fish has been found in Virginia.
On Friday a fisherman caught one in a creek near Mount Vernon in Northern Virginia.
The deparment of Game and Inland Fisheries believes it's an isolated case, probably an aquarium fish released into the wild.
After snakeheads were found in Maryland two years ago, the fish was added to Virginia's list of predatory and undesirable species. That means they're prohibited in the commonwealth without special permits.
