A Pittsylvania County man is dead after he apparently drowned last night. It happened around eight off Highway- 57 in the Callands area. Officials say 53-year old Thomas Wayne Cook was fishing on a pond near Callands' Courthouse when he fell in. The Danville Dive Team recovered his body two- and- a - half hours later. Investigators are now waiting for a report from the medical examiner.
