Powell was also trying to gain support on the draft of a new U-N Security Council resolution that would recognize the new Iraqi government. Under the agreement, the U-S picked interim government will continue to control security forces. A William Byrd Middle School student died yesterday after collapsing during a physical education class.
The eighth grader apparently collapsed while running on the school's track. The assistant principal and another person administered CPR until rescue crews arrived. The boy was taken to Roanoke Community Hospital where he died.
School officials are not releasing the boy's name.
Officials say the boy suffered from a medical condition, but declined to elaborate -- except to say that the condition did NOT keep him from participating in athletics.

Evangelist Billy Grahamis hospitalized after a fall at his home.

A statement on Graham's web site says Graham was admitted for evaluation and treatment of injuries from a fall he suffered yesterday. Graham had been at home recovering from a partial hip replacement surgery performed in January. His orthopedic surgeon said Graham is in stable condition and that preliminary tests indicated a possible hairline fracture to the pelvis. Further tests will determine the extent of his injuries, and the time needed for recovery.

The couple named the baby Apple Blythe Alison Martin. She weighed NINE-pounds and ELEVEN ounces. Both mother and baby are said to be doing well.

One zoo in Japan is showing off its latest success: a rare pair of Pallas Cat kittens.

The keepers had first heard one of the kittens meow earlier last month and confirmed the zoo's first birth of Pallas kittens. But due to the cats' nervous disposition, the keepers were forced to keep their distance until now. Formerly widely hunted for their beautiful stripped fur, they remain endangered in their natural habitat due to secondary poisoning from rat traps and pesticides. If these felines look familiar, you may recall the Mill Mountain Zoo showed off it's Pallas cat in March. They hope to START their breeding program this year.

But, for some folks in Utah, the term literally means riding on a bed. Groups of employees from three different hospitals in the Salt Lake City area got together for a little friendly competition, in the form of hospital bed races. The hospital workers loaded a person onto a bed and then raced them around a parking lot to see who could race the fastest. The winner was handed the coveted "Golden Bed Pan Award" -- and will get to host next year's races.
