For one, the U-S attack on a village near the Syrian border, which claimed more than 40 lives. Iraqis insist it was a wedding party that came under fire. The U.S. military defends the air strike as targeting a compound used by foreign fighters entering the country. BRIG. GEN. MARK KIMMITT: THIS WAS NOT SOMETHING THAT FELL OUT OF THE SKY. WE HAD SIGNIFICANT INTELLIGENCE.
This, combined with new photos of abuse and the belief that the court martial of Specialist Jeremy Sivits failed to deliver justice will make it increasingly more difficult to convince Iraqis that the U-S-led invasion was meant to protect their human rights and improve their lives.Cami McCormick, CBS News Baghdad.))
