By seven- thousands began reporting power losses.

The roadways were pretty treacherous, but there were no major accidents reported or damage from the storm.

4600 people are with out power in the Dublin area.
AEP officials say an sub-transmission line is out.
Crews say it could have been lightning or the wind.

Police agencies are reporting heavy damage in Scott and Lee County, Virginia and the city of Bristol.

Severe storms knocked down trees, damaged homes and took out power to tens of thousands of homes and businesses.
Two schools in Kingsport, Tennessee were also damaged.

Emergency crews in Blacksburg are fighting a fire at the Industrial Park right now.

The Wolverine Gasket Company at 201 Industrial Park Drive was evacuated around 10:00 this evening after reports of heavy smoke.
No word yet, on the fire itself or if there are any injuries.

Board members say they made the decision because of citizen complaints, missed calls, personnel problems and unauthorized use of a county vehicle.
The county is now advertising for an Emergency Services Coordinator.
Assistant County Administrator Ronald Newman says the Coordinator's first job will be to assess the Rescue Squad situation and make a recommendation to the board.

Six Botetourt County Middle School students are now facing a number of drug charges including posession and distribution.

The charges stem from an incident last week where Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle says a 15-year-old boy got a hold of the anti-seizure drug Klonopin and gave it to several classmates.
Emergency crews were called to the school when five of the 8th-graders became sick.

It took Oklahoma jurors less than five hours to convict Terry Nichols of 161 counts of murder.

Almost a decade after the deadliest domestic terror attack in the country, the jury found Nichols guilty.
Nichols helped Timothy McVeigh carry out the bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building in 1995.
During the trial, prosecutors alleged that Nichols and McVeigh planned the bombing to avenge the government's seige at the Branch Dividian compound near Waco Texas.
McVeigh was executed for the bombing in 2001. Nichols' sentencing begins next week. He also faces the death penalty.

The opener had Clemson taking on North Carolina in a game that featured two ties and three lead changes.
Clemson got the win with a one out single by Russell Triplett in the bottom of the ninth to give the Tigers the 7-to-6 victory.
Triplett went 2-for-5 at the plate recording a game-high three RBIs in the victory.

The second game of the afternoon featured top seeded Ga. Tech and Maryland.
The Yellow Jackets had to fight for their lives to advance with a 4-to-3 win. They got all four of their runs in the third inning.

((Several hundred school kids from Roanoke City and the City of Salem filled out the crowd on the first full day of action at the ACC Tournament. There was no kidding around though for about 20 big league scouts in attendance, in search of the next big thing on the diamond. With 16 of Baseball America's Top 100 prospects in Salem this week, it's an opportunity too good to pass up.

Most of the district action around the area was washed out tonight including the River Ridge boys and girls soccer semi-finals.
One event that did manage to finish up was the River Ridge baseball at Calfee Park in Pulaski.
In the semi-finals Cave Spring beat Pulaski 2-to-1 and Blacksburg earned a spot in the regionals with a 5-to-3 win over Salem.
