They say 20-year old Kristin Monique Hoosier of Roanoke was driving westbound on Brandon Avenue when her car went off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole. Hoosier was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. A nearby resident says he was standing on his deck around 6:30 when the car crashed.

The Pittsylvania Sheriff's Office now knows the name of a woman whose body was found earlier this year.

The skeletonized remains were found April 22nd in a field a few hundred yards from Inman Road. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide and said the remains belonged to a middle-aged white female. Authorities would not discuss the cause of death. The Danville Register and Bee reports the woman has been identified as Lisa Marie Ayers, a former Danville resident whose family still lives in the city. A memorial service is planned for 10 tomorrow morning at Danville Memorial Gardens.

There are unconfirmed reports that a tornado may have touched down on the Virginia-Tennessee border. Police agencies are reporting heavy damage in Scott and Lee counties and the city of Bristol.

Additional charges have been filed in Botetourt County stemming from last week's drug overdose at an area Middle School. Charges are pending against three-students: a 17-year-old girl from Lord Botetourt High School and two 14-year-olds from Read Mountain Middle. The high schooler faces distribution of marijuana. While the 14-year-olds face distribution of marijuana and possession of the anti-seizure medication, Klonopin - respectively. Five eight-graders were taken to the hospital last week after taking the prescription drug. So far, nine-teenagers have been charged in connection with the incident. Their hearing will be July 6th in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

The U-S led coalition says it's stopping offensive operations in the Iraqi city.
That after radical cleric Muqtada al- Sadr agreed to withdraw his forces, if U-S troops also pull back AND if action on an arrest warrant against him is delayed.
A coalition spokesman says if al- Sadr lives up to his end of the deal, the coalition will do its part.
But he adds that al- Sadr will eventually have to comply with the warrant, which implicates him in the killing of a rival cleric.

A trial date could be set today, and more arguments from both sides will be heard.
The defense may introduce DNA evidence collected from his accuser, supporting their theory that she had consensual sex with another man, hours after she claimed she was raped by Bryant.
Prosecutors will argue against an expert witness testifying that there were flaws in the sheriff department's investigation.

A cargo plane got off balance while sitting at L-A-X.

Crew members were unloading cargo when the odd occurance took place.
Authorities say the tail jack of the plane was not placed in the correct position.
So, as the crew members were unloading the aircraft, the cargo began shifting.
That made the tail of the plane heavier than the nose, causing the nose of the plane to point upward.
Seven crew members were on board, but they were taken off the plane safely. No injuries were reported.

That means they'll be eligible for their partner's pension after the partner's death.

A major bond firm has upheld Virginia's perfect credit rating.
Today's decision by Moody's Investors Service to retain Virginia's Triple-A rating puts Wall Street's blessing on changes that the legislature made to the state's fiscal structure.
