Two teenage girls are in custody and charged with murdering the mother of one of the girls.

Wythe County investigators say they found the body of 42-year-old Vaughne Roxanne Thomas of Max Meadows this weekend.

It was buried under a pile of logs behind her home on Rome Road- she was apparently stabbed to death.
The sheriff's department says the victim's husband returned from a weekend trip Sunday night to find the family home ransacked, and his wife and her daughter missing.

He called for help, and investigators say when they tracked down the daughter, they learned the location of the body.

A man is dead in a single- vehicle accident in Danville.
State Police say 35 year old Gregory N. Jones was travelling East on Route 58 just outside the city limits about 6:15 yesterday.
Troopers say he was speeding, and swerved into the median to avoid slower traffic when his car overturned.
Jones was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was then hit by a car coming from the other direction.
Troopers say Jones died at the scene.

Many visitors have made pit stops to a local museum since its opening last year.

The O. Winston Link Museum has now had 10-thousand visitors.
The renovated train station honoring the famed railroad photographer opened last January.
Officials at the museum say they've been pleased with attendance in the first five months, and expect it'll be even better during the summer travel season.
Sales at the museum gift shop have topped 50-thousand dollars so far.

A Buena Vista man tried to cash in on "The Passion of the Christ", and is being accused of illegally trying to profit from the movie.

Police say Dustin Benson stole a copy of the blockbuster film from Valley Cinemas in Buena Vista and tried to sell it on E-Bay.
An official with the Motion Picture Association of America saw the e-bay listing and got the seller's name and location by acting as an interested buyer.
When police confronted Benson, they say he admitted to the scheme and showed them where the film was.
Benson's charged with breaking and entering, computer fraud and grand larceny.
