Before dawn, people were gathering to pay their respects to former President Ronald Reagan, as his body lies in state at his presidential library in California.
Tributes are pouring in from world leaders and average citizens alike.
Meanwhile, the nation's capital will come to a virtual standstill on Friday, the day of Ronald Reagan's state funeral.
President Bush has declared Friday a national day of mourning.

A Montgomery County school bus driver has been cleared of any wrong doing for an April bus accident.

61 year old Bradford Charles Grems of Blacksburg was found NOT guilty this morning of reckless driving. Grems was behind the wheel of a school bus on Camp Carrysbrook Road when the road gave way and his bus overturned. The judge says there was NOT enough evidence beyond a reasonable doubt to convict Grems. The judge said the road, NOT the driver, was at fault for this accident. The bus was carrying two teachers and nine high school students. No one was injured.

A wheel malfunction is being blamed for a costing a local candidates votes this past election.

Today, surrounded by election officials- maintenance workers opened the back of the voting machine which was located at Grandin Court Elementary. Alice Hincker, who had been running for Roanoke City Mayor, didn't receive any votes at that precinct which had officials and Hincker scratching their heads. The workers discovered a wheel- which would record Hincker's votes- was stuck.

The military says it wants to withdraw a third of its forces-- around 12- thousand troops-- by the end of next year.


Some of them have been slated to be re- deployed to Iraq.
This will be the first major troop reduiction on the Korean Peninsula since the early 19-90s.
The U-S has kept troops in South Korea ever since the Korean War-- in part to help prevent agression from the North.

Geragos is known for his aggression, some of which has already been on display here.
Prosecutors on the other hand seem to be building their case slowly, detail by detail. A tactic former DA Dean Johnson says may be a mistake.

Law enforcement agents are running a fund-raiser through Salem that's certainly one of a kind.

Law enforcement agencies from around the region hosted its annual poker run Sunday. The event was held to raise money for the Special Olympics. This was only the second year of the poker run. However, the officers are expecting to raise more than double what was brought in last year. The event was part of a national effort known as the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics. Virginia alone will donate around 700-thousand dollars this year.

Mark Martin survived a rash of wrecks and got a huge break-- ending a long losing streak last night in the MBNA 400 at Dover.

Early on, Elliott Sadler got the nudge from Kurt Busch and scooted up the banking and into Brendan Gaughan (Gone) to bring out the day's second caution.
With just over 50 laps remaining following a restart, Dave Blaney clipped Michael Waltrip who was a lap down, triggering a 19 car pileup.
Blaney's Dodge spun into turn 3, damaging plenty of racecars and even more egos.
The race was red flagged for nearly 20 minutes.
Kasey Kahne appeared headed for his first career victory, but the rookie ran thru an oil slick laid down by the car of Casey Mears with just 18 laps to go, ending his shot at the historic win.
That handed the victory to Martin, who held off Tony Stewart for the checkers.

The Cavaliers led Blacksburg 2- nothing within the first 20 minutes at Bill Brown Stadium.
But the Bruins rallied for a 3- 2 win, and will now host Graham in a state quarterfinal tomorrow night.
