Two Christiansburg teenagers have been charged in the death of a middle school student.

17 year old Zachary Linkous is charged with voluntary manslaughter, a class 5 felony that carries one to 10 years in prison. A 14-year old girl, who's name is NOT being released, faces the same charge. Police say the two were involved in a shooting in the garage of a Christiansburg home on Spruce Street. Police say the handgun used in the crime is missing. Investigators are asking people who live along Spruce Street, Reading (reeding) Road, Glen Court, Falling Branch, Scott Street and Starlight Drive to search their yards for the weapon.

Some may be surprised later today when soldiers flood the streets of downtown Lynchburg. But don't worry, its just a training exercise.

More than 80 members of Company "C" of the 4th Combat Engineer Battalion will spend 24 hours training along the riverfront.
The unit will be heading to Iraq later this year, and commanders wanted them to get some experience in an urban setting similar to what they'll encounter overseas.
City leaders want to get the word out to avoid any panicked phone calls from concerned residents.

Danville police are asking for help in identifying a thief caught on a surveillance tape.

[TAKE SUSPECT FS] Officers say this man stole an 83-year-old woman's A-T-M card, and then used it to withdraw money from her bank account. The suspect is seen here using an A-T-M machine at the Bank of America on West Main Street. Investigators aren't sure how the man got the card, but they believe it was stolen from the mail. One show at a legendary local theater is taking its final bow.

Theater at Lime Kiln near Lexington is retiring "Stonewall Country" after this year's three and a half week run. Yesterday, crew members attended to the final details for last night's opening show. The theater's artistic director says the show has run its course after 20 years, and the message of the musical was in danger of being lost.
