Johnson was killed Friday after the demands of his kidnapper were not met. Today the al Qaida group believed to be responsible for the beheading is posting new information on an Islamic web site. The group claims it received help from sympathizers within the Saudi Security forces. The article indicates security officials donated police cars and uniforms to the militants, who then set up a fake checkpoint. The disguised rebels stopped Johnson's car, drugged him, and dragged him off in another vehicle.
The al-Qaida group also states it decided to sever Johnson's head because the Saudi foreign affairs adviser declared the kingdom would not negotiate with kidnappers.
