U-S soldiers clashed with insurgents north of Baghdad yesterday in a fight that killed 10 Iraqis and wounded 12 others. The U-S military isn't commenting, but Iraqi officials say the clashes occurred about 60 miles north of Baghdad in the Sunni Triangle.

In Central Baghdad, a bomb exploded on a sidewalk outside a bank Sunday morning wounding five Iraqi's. The bank is located near Baghdad's Ahrar Bridge. Two women and a bank security guard were reported injured along with a small bus.

And in Sadr City, U-S forces and militants loyal to Moqtada al-Sadr traded fire, killing three people. Residents of the city say the fighting was in retaliation of an earlier attack on a number of U-S patrols.

Meanwhile, the interim prime minister Iyad Allawi (EE--yahd, ah-LAH-wee) announced a restricting of the country's security forces, including the creation of a ministerial level committee for national security. Two long time rivals -- are now working together to keep the peace.
India and Pakistan held their first ever talks this weekend, on how to reduce the treat of nuclear war.

They agreed to establish a nuclear hotline to alert each other of potential nuclear accidents or threats. Officials say the plan will prevent any misunderstandings and reduce risks.
The two countries have gone to war three times since independence from Britain in 1947.
Both sides have also agreed to no longer conduct nuclear tests. Higher-level talks are scheduled for later this month.

Lynchburg Police are looking for a suspect that was involved in a shooting last night. Authorities responded to a call around 11:40 at Rivermont Ave and Cabell Street. When police arrived they found 44 year old Riley Mason Johnson shot in the upper part of his leg. Johnson was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital and is listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lynchburg Police Department at 434-455-6054 or Central Virginia Crimestoppers at 1-888-798-5900.

Rescue crews will continue to search this morning for the body of a possible drowning victim at Smith Mountain Lake.

Officials say a woman from Roanoke disappeared around 3-30 yesterday afternoon. She was last seen swimming in 100 feet of water at the entrance of Betty's Creek and Becky's Creek, about three miles south of Hales Ford Bridge. Officials say it may take some time to find the body because of the water's depth. Divers will also resume their search this morning.

A lawsuit filed this week in Roanoke claims that the down-draft from a rescue helicopter forced a Lexington woman to the ground and broke her hip. The suit says Ruby Graves was leaving Stonewall Jackson Hospital in July 2002 after an outpatient treatment, when a helicopter passed overhead with a down-draft so strong, it knocked her to the ground. The suit claims Graves broke her hip in the fall. Graves died last year at the age of 84. The suit has been filed on behalf of her estate for 300-thousand dollars. A Carilion spokesman said yesterday that he had not seen the lawsuit.

Authorities in Danville are telling residents to keep an eye out for any suspicious people this weekend. The Virginia State Police Criminal Intelligence Division has received information that large numbers of a group called the English Travelers is in central Virginia this weekend for family gatherings. The English Travelers are a well-known group of gypsies. Police say the group usually trys to defraud homeowners with home repair scams. Southside residents are asked to report any suspicious activity to local police.
