[IN Q=THERE WAS A FOUNDATION THAT WAS BUILT]

((CHARLES LEEDECKER/PRINCIPAL ARCHAEOLOGIST: THERE WAS A FOUNDATION THAT WAS BUILT IN 1785 BUT WHEN JEFFERSON'S PLANS ARRIVED HE FOUND IT WASN'T THE RIGHT SHAPE OR SIZE FOR THE BUILDING HE WANTED SO THAT FOUNDATION WAS ABANDONED AND A NEW FOUNDATION WAS BUILT ON WHICH THE CAPITOL RESTS TODAY SO WE'RE FINDING THE VERY FIRST FOUNDATION THAT WAS REJECTED BY JEFFERSON.))
