Police say 19 year old Joshua Aaron Smith was driving on Route 612 in Effinger, when he ran off the left hand side of the road, over-corrected, came back on the road, and over-corrected again-- running off the left hand side of the road where he hit a tree.
Smith died at the scene.

An early morning accident in Lynchburg sent one man to the hospital.

[take accident map fs] Police say 26 year old Carey Bryant was operating a stolen 2001 Suzuki motorcycle shortly after 2- 30 this morning, when he failed to make a left hand turn at Bedford and Rivermont Avenues. Authorities say Bryant then crossed over the intersection and struck a concrete wall.

Bryant was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital and was then flown to U-V-A Medical Center. His condition is unknown. The accident is still under investigation.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department have arrested a man who is wanted for attempted murder in New York.
Officals say Wesley Nelson kicked down the door to a woman's apartment on Oak Street, and threatened her with a gun.
He was arrested a short time later.
He was wanted on 2 counts of attempted murder in New Rochelle, New York.
Now he faces assault and battery, breaking and entering, and firearms charges here.
Nelson is currently held in the Martinsville City Jail with NO bond.

Hildegard Bergbauer says her doggie designs are inspired by her memories of canines dressed up during festivals she attended while growing up in Germany.
She says that when she dressed up her own dogs in lederhosen, people like the idea, and her career took off.
Bergbauer has sold her costumes to dog owners in the U-S and of course, in Germany.
She says she's thinking of expanding her dogwear to include kilts and even biking leathers.
