Crews are still clearing away one of those accidents near milemarker 109 in the northbound lane. It all started when the axle on a tractor trailer broke, leaving it stranded on the side of the road. That backed up traffic and ended up causing another tractor trailer to run off the road. Then, a tractor trailer and car collided and two more trucks ran into each other. Police say it could take SEVERAL more hours to clean up the original tractor trailer with the broken axle.

UNDER A FEDERALLY SUBSIDIZED PROGRAM, IN JULY OF EACH YEAR, THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION SETS THE FIXED RATE FOR THE FOLLOWING 12 MONTHS, WHICH IS NOW AT 3.37 PERCENT FOR STAFFORD LOANS AND 4.17 PERCENT FOR PLUS LOANS. ALSO, LOAN CONSOLIDATION IS PROBABLY NOT FOR ACTIVE STUDENTS WHOSE LOANS ARE IN A GRACE PERIOD, BECAUSE LOAN CONSOLIDATION TRIGGERS THE REQUIREMENT TO TO BEGIN PAYMENTS. BUT RECENT GRADS, WHO HAVE LOANS IN A GRACE PERIOD DO HAVE A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY TO CONSOLIDATE THEIR LOANS DURING THE GRACE PERIOD AND LOCK IN AN EVEN LOWER RATE OF 2.77 PERCENT. THERE ARE NO COSTS, FEES OR CREDIT CHECKS FOR LOAN CONSOLIDATION, SO THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO LOCK IN A LOW RATE AND A LOW PAYMENT ON YOUR STUDENT LOANS.
