A 23 year old woman, who police are not identifying was grabbed from behind by a complete stranger in downtown Blacksburg as she walked home. She was snatched in this alley behind main street where she was brutally beaten in the face and possibly raped. The victim was beaten unconscious so police are waiting on some lab results to determine if she was raped. Police got a tip late yesterday evening which led them to their suspect almost exactly 24 hours after the attack.
