Corporal Wassef Ali Hassoun (Wah-SEFF ali Ha-SAHN) was shown in videotape yesterday blindfolded with a sword brandished over his head.
Hassoun is Muslim who was born in Lebanon-
Insurgents have also threatened to behead a kidnapped Pakistani driver by Wednesday unless the U-S releases all Iraqi prisoners.
The man works for a subcontractor of U-S based Kellogg Brown.

Friends, family and neighbors in the community are still shocked over the deaths. They say Joyce and Betty walked this route two, sometimes three times a day.

[NO SUPER] Researchers at a university in Hungary found that men who carry cellphones in their pockets suffered decreased fertility. According to the study, men who carried cell phones on the "standby" setting had one-third fewer sperm than men who did not. The scientists say electromagnetic radiation could be to blame. But other scientists caution the study did not account for other lifestyle factors.

The court agreed to hear the Bush administration's appeal of a case it lost last year in San Fransisco's 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. That court ruled that a federal law banning marijuana does not apply to California patients whose doctors have prescribed the drug. Inner-city kids and horse racing might seem like an unusual combination, but they'll be coming together for a good cause in Nelson County this fall.

The Oak Ridge estate near Shipman will host a one-day steeplechase event on its mile-long race course.
About five thousand people are expected to attend the event which is being sanctioned by the National Steeplechase Association.
The proceeds will benefit the Jubilee Family Development Center in Lynchburg.
