Today while most of the U-S was sleeping, the Iraqi government was given sovereignty two days ahead of schedule.

The transfer took place during a low- key ceremony in Baghdad.
While Iraq may now be a sovereign nation, it's still a war zone.
The British Ministry of Defense says one of its soldiers was killed and two others were injured today in an explosion in southern Iraq.
Teri Okita is in Baghdad and joins us now with the latest.
