One of Roanoke County's largest employers is about to get bigger. Hanover Direct this week announced plans to move its "Company Store" distribution operations in La Crosse, Wisconsin

Sources expect the shift will create more than one hundred new jobs and a capital investment of more than one million dollars. A Richmond judge today reluctantly blocked a new law that inadvertently gives weekend workers a day off.

The judge granted a 90-day injunction but expressed reservations about fixing the General Assembly's mistakes.

But first things first. The Navy has given Ensign Hurley a special exemption to play in amateur events this summer. But before he hops onto the PGA Tour, he'll first serve at least a 2 year tour aboard the USS Gettysburg stationed in Florida.

The 22 year old can find plenty of parallels between Navy life and the game of golf, and he wouldn't trade his time in Annapolis for anything. ))
