Ironically, at the start of this season the Blue Jays have had no trouble surviving the competition of Appalachian League baseball with one of the hottest starts in all of the minor leagues, winning their first nine games. A start not even their head coach saw coming.
Gary; You never
The reason for the Blue Jays inability to lose in the month of June falls squarely on the bats of a lineup that has six players hovering around the 300 mark. Team captain and clean-up hitter Nick Thompson anchors an offense that averages close to nine runs a game. And it's no suprise who he gives credit to.
Nick:
What's more impressive than the Blue Jays ability to score has been the depth and quality of their pitching. Pulaski has sent five different arms to the mound this season who have combined for an ERA of 1.86. Leading the way for the Blue Jays is reigning pitcher of the week Yesson Berrora and ninteen year old Brian Grant.
Brian:
As hot as Pulaski's start is they have no room to slip if they want to stay in first place. Hot on the Blue Jays heels is the Bluefield Orioles. The two teams will duke it out for eastern division bragging rights in a three game series starting July 7th in Bluefield. Frankie Gunnell News 7 Sports.))
