Quarterback Marcus Vick now faces a drug charge. He was pulled over this weekend on Interstate 64 and charged with reckless driving.

20 year old Vick is charged with reckless driving and possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors. State police say a trooper clocked Vick going 86 in a 65 mile an hour zone around 2:30 Saturday morning. It happened near New Kent which is in between Richmond and Norfolk. Police say they also found two bags of marijuana on him. The Newport News native was released on summons and was NOT taken into custody. News of charges, had many Hokie Football fans we spoke with... angry.

In May, Vick was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined more than 22-hundred dollars after he and two teammates were convicted of contributing to the delinquency of minors. They gave alcohol to three teenage girls at a private party. Vick's attorney is appealing the conviction in circuit court. Today Tech Athletic Director Jim Weaver announced that Vick, tailback Mike Imoh and wide receiver Brenden Hill will also be suspended for the first three games of the season for that incident.

The first of a group of teenagers has been sentenced in a middle school drug overdose case. A girl was ordered to perform 50-hours of community service. She'll be on probation for one year.

She's one of 10-teenagers who appeared before substitute Judge Bill Cleaveland today in Juvenile Court in Fincastle.

Six girls and four boys face various drug charges, stemming from the May 19th incident where several students were rushed to the hospital after taking the seizure medication, Klonopin.
The remaining teenagers entered pleas this morning. While the Judge found the evidence against them sufficient, he postponed a final ruling in their cases until background checks and substance screenings can be performed.

It happened around 1:30 this afternoon on Buck Mountain Road, near Route-220. Police say two cars headed in opposite directions collided head-on. A female passenger in the blue car died at the scene. Three others were taken to the hospital. There's no word on their conditions. Police are still trying to determine what caused the wreck. Residents say the road is dangerous -- and that they want something done about it.

In a seperate incident, one man was severely injured in a two-car accident on Route 460. Lifeguard 10 responded to the accident in the westbound lanes near the Roanoke County/Montgomery County line around 12:30 this afternoon. The accident involved a pickup truck and a Chevy Cavalier. The driver of the truck was ejected and helicoptered out. Neither of the two people in the Cavalier were injured.

One of two men charged with a murder outside a high school football game last fall is standing trial in Pittsylvania County.

23-year-old Edwin Rontae Hodnett is charged with gunning down 29-year-old Lynndell Powell outside Gretna High School November 23rd.
Authorities say Powell had been fighting with another man, when Hodnett shot him twice in the back.
An eyewitness today testified he saw Hodnett pull out and fire a gun.
A second suspect.. 19-year-old Jonathan Carter.. will stand trial later this year.
A verdict in Hodnett's case is expected tomorrow.

57 year old Bob Shell faces several charges including felony homicide and three counts of defiling a corpse. He's charged in connection with the overdose death of one of his models, 19 year old Marion Franklin. Shell's been under house arrest since posting bond last summer. Shell also says he's missing several pieces of photography equipment originally seized by police. The judge gave the Commonwealth 21 days to go over the list of missing equipment and find out where it is.

The Vick suspension is not just for games, but for practices and all team activities according to head coach Frank Beamer.

The suspension will have a number of effects the program and the school in general - but what it immediately means from a football standpoint is that the Hokies will have to step up the timetable for freshman quarterback Cory Holt. The North Carolina native enrolled at Tech in the spring and went through spring practice after spending half of last year at Hargrave Military. He has tremendous ability and considered by many observers of the program as the most talented passer on the team. He will now be Bryan Randall's backup and one play away from playing.

The Parade all-American was placed on probation for the second time in two weeks today with the condition that his lawyers will help him get admitted to college.
Williams must perform 250 hours of community service while on probation for three years and he is banned from drinking alcohol and he'll be subject to random testing. Miami athletic director Paul Dee says that now that Williams' sentence is known, the school will determine whether to admit him. He originally was found guilty of robbing a stereo shop, then for violating his probation while on a recruiting visit to the University of Florida where he trashed a hotel.
