Good Afternoon, I'm Kimberly McBroom.
John Kerry says his new running mate ``understands and defends the values of America.''
However, not everyone is thrilled with the selection of John Edwards as the number two man on the Democratic ticket.
Some Democrats are concerned that Edwards may NOT have the experience needed to do the job.
Aleen Sirgany is in Washington this afternoon, with more on Kerry's long- awaited announcement.

Investigators say she is was about 40 years old, but they do not yet know her identity. Sheriff Randall Fisher says a caller reported seeing a man and woman move the body Sunday from a maroon Pontiac Grand Am to the side of a road near Buffalo Gap. ((

The U-S Marine once thought to be decapitated by terrorists is reportedly alive and free.
The brother of Wassef Ali Hassoun says the hostage takers released him early today, but he would not reveal the source of that information.

(WEBSITE)

For days there was confusion over Hassoun's fate--with one Islamist group saying he was dead; another saying he was alive.
Hassoun's family had appealed to his captors to have mercy on him as an Arab and a Muslim. Hassoun was raised in Lebanon before emigrating to the United States four years ago.
Hassoun's apparent release comes on the same day a group of armed, masked Iraqi men threatened to kill Jordanian militant Abu Musab al Zarqawi.
In a videotape sent to an Arab television station--the group calling itself the "Salvation Movement" accused al-Zarqawi of murdering innocent Iraqis and defiling the Muslim religion. It questioned how he could kidnap and behead foreigners in the name of Islam.
On the video, one man says al-Zarqawi must leave the country immediately or he will be killed.
The threat revealed the deep anger many Iraqis--including insurgents feel toward foreign fighters, be they terrorists or U-S coalition forces.
The video was released one day after U-S led troops targeted what they believed to be safe house for al Zarqawi followers. Witnesses say 15 people were killed in the attack in the town of Fallujah.
The Americans have been searching for al Zarqawi since he was shown on a videotape beheading American civilian Nicholas Berg.
