One person is dead after crashing a motorcycle near Fries last night. State police say 43 year old David Allen Martin of Fries was riding his motorcycle on Route 602 about a quarter of a mile west of Route 94, when he lost control, ran off the right side of the road and down an embankment. He was thrown from the motorcycle and killed.

It's up to the commonwealth's attorney to decide if charges will be filed after a man dies in a Roanoke County accident yesterday afternoon.

Authorities say 40 year old Chad Timothy Price of Salem was not wearing his seatbelt when his pick-up truck collided with a car on Route 460.
Police say the driver of the other car, 19 year old Steven Richard Edwards of Mullens, West Virginia, pulled into the path of Price's truck. Edwards was not injured

Police say two people have now died after another Roanoke County accident yesterday... this one on Buck Mountain Road. Officers say 53 year old Paul Kingery of Roanoke County crossed the center-line about 1:30 and hit another car head on.
Kingery later died at the hospital. His passenger, 48 year old Connie Shriver of Callaway died at the scene.
Two people in the other vehicle-- 54 year old Sandra Isenhour and her son 32 year old Shannon Isenhour of Bedford-- were taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Both are listed in fair condition.

Marcus Vick's latest run in with the law has gotten him suspended from the football team -- indefinitely. State Troopers charged him with possession of marijuana and reckless driving over the weekend.

The Tech athletic department suspended Vick from competition and all team activities, including practice.
The charges come less than two months after Vick and two teammates were convicted of contributing to the delinquency of minors.
Though that case is being appealed, Tech also took disciplinary action yesterday for that incident,
Vick, running back Mike Imoh and wide receiver Brenden Hill will be suspended for the first three games of the upcoming season.

23-year-old Edwin Rontae Hodnett is accused of gunning down 29-year-old Lynndell Powell near Gretna High School November 23rd.
Authorities say Powell got into an altercation with another man, 19-year-old Jonathan Carter.
An eyewitness identified Hodnett as the man he saw pull a gun and shoot Powell twice in the back.

Earlier in the day, school safety was on the agenda as city council sat down with the school board.
Members of a school safety task force detailed their recommendations and encouraged officials to embrace all of their proposals.

A Radford photographer accused of murder will NOT be allowed to leave the state for work.

57 year old Bob Shell faces several charges including felony homicide and three counts of defiling a corpse. He's charged in connection with the overdose death of one of his models, 19 year old Marion Franklin. Shell's been under house arrest since posting bond last summer. Shell also says he's missing several pieces of photography equipment originally seized by police. The judge gave the Commonwealth 21 days to go over the list of missing equipment and find out where it is.

Six girls and four boys face various drug charges, stemming from the May 19th incident where several students were rushed to the hospital after taking the seizure medication, Klonopin.
The remaining teenagers entered pleas yesterday morning. While the Judge found the evidence against them sufficient, he postponed a final ruling in their cases until background checks and substance screenings can be performed.
