Police in Radford are investigating an apparent drowning. The body of a Radford man was recovered this morning from the New River. Police say it is believed to be an accident. Rescue crew and divers from surrouding jurisdictions were called to assist in the search. The victim's name has not yet been released.

Two construction workers were injured after a 25 foot scaffold collapsed on North Main St. in Danville this morning. Police say the men fell while reconstructing an old movie theater into office space. They were transported to Danville Regional Hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

One person is dead after crashing a motorcycle near Fries last night.
State Police say 43 year old David Allen Martin lost control of his motorcycle on Route 602 about a quarter of a mile west of Route 94.
Martin ran down an embankment off the right side of the road and was thrown from the motorcycle.

A Radford woman wanted in connection with a major drug ring is now in custody.

Last night, police arrested 25-year-old Crystal Dawn Stigger. Stigger is one of 14-people indicted last week on charges related to a major drug operation in the New River Valley.

Authorities say the group was led by members of the Bloods street gang, and sold up to 10-million dollars worth of cocaine over the last five years. Authorities are still looking for one of the alleged members, Steven Ellis Edmonds of Pulaski. Police believe he may still be in the area.

A female suicide bomber killed at least five people today in Sri Lanka.

Nearly a dozen people were injured in the blast.

Peace talks to end Sri Lanka's decades-long civil war have been on hold for more than a year, but both sides had been observing the Norwegian-brokered truce.

17- American sailors were killed in October, 2000, when two suicide bombers rammed a boat full of explosives into the American ship while it was refueling in Yemen.
Al-Qaida is blamed for the bombing.
Among those charged was accused mastermind Abdel Rahim al-Nasheri (ahbd al-ruh-HEEM' al-nuh-SHEE'-ree), who is said to be in U-S custody at an undisclosed location.
This was the first hearing in the trial of Cole suspects.

The San Fermin festival, renowned for its all- night street parties, dates back to the late 16th century.
The bull runs continue daily, through July 14th.

The Virginia Tech athletic department has taken action against quarterback Marcus Vick after his latest run-in with the law. Vick was pulled over last weekend on Interstate 64 and charged with possession of marijuana and reckless driving.
Yesterday, the Tech athletic department suspended Vick indefinitely from competition and all team activities, including practice.
Many Tech fans say the suspension is deserved. Justin McLeod reports.

The North Carolina native enrolled at Tech in the spring, and went through spring practice after spending half of last year at Hargrave Military. He's said to have tremendous ability and is considered by many observers of the program as the most talented passer on the team. He will now be Bryan Randall's backup.
