The missing Marine in Iraq is alive and safe.

Corporal Wassef Ali Hassoun has been found in his home country of Lebanon- 550 miles from duty in Iraq and two weeks after he was reported missing.
The State Department says Hassoun contacted them and officials arranged to pick him up.
Hassoun's parents live in Lebanon, but other family members live in Utah where he joined the Marines.
Hassoun was shown at one point on television, blindfolded with a sword over his head.
Word came that he was executed.. then a day later a website refuted that.
The Pentagon isn't saying much other than they are many questions unanswered.

It happened in the Speedwell section of the county, early Tuesday morning.

The Mill Mountain School-- a private, non-profit endeavor-- is scheduled to open in the fall of 2005. Before then, the board hopes to raise some 300-thousand dollars in donations and in-kind gifts.
Class size is expected to cap at 20 students per grade, tuition should cost about 65-hundred dollars a year.
The school would be located here in downtown Roanoke, where the city's cultural and educational opportunities would serve as an extended classroom.

Some of those fireballs were captured on a dash camera in a police car in Rowlett, Texas.

Just under three miles from the finish, the peloton crashed taking out several riders, but Australia's Stuart O'Grady avoided the mess to win the stage, the second time in his career he has done so. Thomas Voeckler is the new overall leader.

Some enterprising sailors have given an injured seagull a new leg to stand on.

The bird they call Martha was found by a yacht crew in Turkey almost three weeks ago.
Its injured leg had to be amputated to avoid gangrene.
But they were able to create an artificial leg for Martha out of a barbie doll leg and a barbie hand for a foot.
She can walk and even run on the new limb and the sailors say she seems to be enjoying her new life.
