The owner of White Tail Park in Ivor sought to temporarily block the law.
A federal judge today denied the motion, saying the law did not harm the parents or campers.
But the campground's owner says the new law is preventing at least 23 children from attending this year's camp.

A head-on collision in Franklin County killed one person and sent another to the hospital this morning.

It happened shortly before eight on Route 122 near Burnt Chimney. State Police say 52 year old Roy Nininger of Moneta was driving North when he crossed the center line. His vehicle hit a pickup driven by 18 year old Paul Morra of Salem. Nininger was pronounced dead at the scene, Morra is in stable condition at Roanoke Memorial. State Police closed the road for hours while they investigated the wreck.

The pressure from insurgents keeps on coming. Government buildings were the apparent targets of another car bombing.....this time in the town of Haditha, northwest of Baghdad. There aren't many details right now. But officials do confirm that a man is holding a woman at gunpoint, in the Berry Hill section of Pittsylvania County.

Sara Cole did her best to catch Bolling. Cole carded a 7-over 78 to finish in second.
But Dot did what she does best, firing a final round 77, her third straight round in the 70's to win by 6 shots over Cole. It's her 13th City-County title.

Terry Holland, who first arrive at UVa as head men's basketball coach on April first of 1974, and later returned to the University as athletic director, is stepping down from his current position as special assistant to the President. He remains the winningest coach in men's hoop history, and as athletic director he oversaw the expansion of Scott Stadium. Most of his energy in his most recent position was raising money for the new basketball arena.

The 84 year old patriarch of Hendrick Motrosports was better known by the nickname he went by for years and years - that of Papa Joe. He and son Rick Hendrick both grew up in South Hill where they raced modifieds early in thier racing careers. He remained active in the sports throughout his life, in fact he and his grandson Ricky, were listed at co-owners of the Cup team headed by rookie driver Brian Vickers this year and on the No. 5 Busch team for driver Kyle Busch. Hendrick had been in and out of the hospital several times this year battling cancer. Papa Joe Hendrick was 84.

During a recent Democratic fund-raiser, Goldberg used the president's name in a sexual reference.
A statement from the company apologized to anyone who was offended in the manner she expressed her self.
Goldberg says while she understands that Slim-Fast has to protect its business, she has to do what she has to do as an artist.
