Some residents in Bedford doubt that city officials are doing all they can to fix a leaking landfill.

[VO-NAT]
[SUPER=03-Bedford]

The city held a meeting last night to lay out several options to stop harmful chemicals from seeping from the old landfill.
Tests show six residential wells along Bell Town Road have already been contaminated.
Many nearby residents believe the best solution to prevent anymore contamination is for the city to install a water line.

The vote came after the original route was changed to bypass Southeast Roanoke, which is now eligible for historic designation. Hundreds of people chimed in on the change last month, but V-Dot says a majority of those citizens understand why the new route is necessary. Many of the volunteers said the award was nice... but the REAL reward is donating your time.
