Shannon, the ECHL gave the Express until one PM today to have a legitimate offer on the table from a prospective owner to buy the team, and that did not happen. The league then decided to pull the Roanoke Express's ECHL membership, and that means that the Express will not play again.

Dela Cruz is heading home, where he'll receive a hero's welcome and gifts, including a house and scholarships for his children.

Cowan has signed a multi year contract withe the Kings. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Cowan was traded to Los Angeles from the Atlanta Thrashers last march. The Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates the group will contribute 1-point-6 million dollars to the Roanoke Valley during its visit here.
