Almost 25 years have passed since the last regularly scheduled passenger train pulled out of Roanoke.
The Trans Dominion Express would eventually run from Bristol through Roanoke and Lynchburg to Richmond and Washington DCTERMS.
And supporters of the plan believe they now have reason to be optimistic.

The study will consider interchange modifications and better ways to access businesses along the corridor. The long-range vision will be based on the year 2035. Experts say Floyd County does have the perfect conditions for finding large gold deposits. These large metamorphic rocks typically carry gold. Wurtz has even found a large quartz vein on his property that may be the start of a mine.

Bradshaw, was arrested early Saturday morning outside of a Charlottesville nightspot and charged with underage alcohol possession and obstruction of justice.

Berthiaume is now confronted with the possibility of the UHL coming to Roanoke.

This league has teams is Missouri, Illinois, Michigan , New York Richmond and Connecticut to name a few places. The league is somewhat spread out geographically but is interested in putting a franchise in Roanoke. Berthiaume says the UHL could learn a lot from what he calls many mistakes the ECHL has made as he explains what the problems are with the league.

Lance began today completely at ease, although a report back home in the New York Times indicated that he was planning to skip the Tour next year. He went out today with his US Postal service teammates and finished 74th, but did not lose a second of his lead. The Tour finishes up Sunday.
