Authorities began looking for James Clayton Hall Tuesday night, after his son said he hadn't heard from him. A spokesman from the Botetourt County Sheriff's Office says the search was suspended Saturday night after crews exhausted the area and found no trace of the man. He also says the office received a call that the 82-year-old was spotted in Roanoke last week. Hall left on a solo camping trip in the Kelly Hollow section of the Jefferson National Forest July Eleventh -- that's the last time his family heard from him.

Sixth District Congressman Bob Goodlatte wants to eliminate the lottery system that grants visas to 50 thousand people a year.
Goodlatte says the *Diversity Immigrant Visa Lottery* is flawed and is a threat to national security, because it can unknowingly grant visas to potential criminals.
But supporters of the lottery say it provides a long-shot hope for reuniting families who are frustrated by complicated and rigid immigration laws.

Officials say the tourist region on Portugal's southern coast was hardest hit, with more than 150 firefighters working in mountains near the spa town of Monchique. Head coach Bill Cowher was given a two-year contract extension today that runs through the 2007 season. This despite the fact that the Steelers have missed the playoffs four of the past six seasons. In 12 seasons with the Steelers, the 47-year-old Cowher has a 115-76-1 record with nine winning seasons. The new contract is projected to be worth more than $3 million a season.

Rowling has a son, who was born last year following her marriage to Neil Murry in 2001, and she has a daughter, Jessica, from a previous marriage.
