Good Afternoon, I'm Kimberly McBroom.

The only thing overshadowing politics today in Boston is SECURITY.
Helicopters are buzzing over the city, while police officers and soldiers keep an eye on things on the ground.
Meanwhile, there was a hitch along the campaign trail in Florida today for John Kerry.
An officer escorting his motorcade crashed on the way to the Kennedy Space Center.
But Kerry says the officer seems to be "okay."
Aleen Sirgany is at the Fleet Center in Boston, and joins us now with an update on the convention.

A 48 year old woman was killed in an automobile accident last night in Bedford County.
It happened shortly after six on Route 654.
State Police say the victim, Wanda Faye Hicks of Vinton, came around a curve too fast, ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Hicks and her passenger, Allen Shelor of Moneta, were ejected from the car.
Shelor's injuries are not life threatening.
He was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Authorities say alcohol played a part in the accident.

But he wanted to start the race to get his points, and keep his hopes alive of winning the championship.
He stayed in the car for 63 laps before he was pulled from the car and replaced by Martin Truex, Junior.
The driver swap happened so quickly that the team didn't lose a lap.
Truex would settle into the seat, but the current Busch Series points leader, would soon find trouble as he tangles with veteran Ken Schrader, and ends up backing into the outside wall.
Truex would be able to continue and he ended up with a 31st place finish.
