Good Afternoon, I'm Kimberly McBroom.

While his wife is the focus of attention today at the Democratic convention, John Kerry spent his morning campaigning in Norfolk-- the site of the world's largest naval base.
As he highlighted his own military service, Kerry said he wants to keep the 9-11 commission working past its late August deadline, in an effort to keep the nation safe.
Aleen Sirgany is in Boston this afternoon and joins us now with an update on the covention.

THE REPIPHYSIS (re-pith-eh-sis) IMPLANT HAS A SPRING LOADED INSIDE. WHEN AN EXPANSION IS NEEDED DOCTORS PUT A RING AROUND THE LEG THAT CREATES AN ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD. THAT SOFTENS THE PLASTIC INSIDE, ALLOWING THE SPRING TO UNWIND SLIGHTLY... STRETCHING THE LEG A FEW MILLIMETERS.
