(( The suicide attacker chose mid-morning to strike in Baquba - when the town center was crowded. The main target - a police station is beside a busy market. Scores of shoppers were caught in the blast. And the station is used as a recruiting center for the Iraqi police force - dozens of men were waiting in line to sign up.

(APTN VIDEO)

A minibus passing by was also hit - most of the passengers were killed instantly.

This man was standing in the street when the car drove by - he says it went straight to the police station and exploded.

(APTN VIDEO)

Doctors and nurses at the hospital in Baquba battled all day with the heavy inflow of casualties - many of them in serious condition. Every bed was filled - many of the injured were forced to sit on the floor and wait their turn to be seen.
(END APTN)

Baquba is a flashpoint town thats been the scene of dozens of attacks in recent months. And Iraqi police are increasingly targeted by insurgents.

(Cobbe On Camera)

But the violence wasnt limited to Baquba. Here in Baghdad, insurgents used rockets to attack a busy street in a residential area of the capital.
They landed just off Haifa street - in an area known to be a stronghold for guerillas and criminals. But the casualty toll here was light. The car bombing in Baquba was the deadliest attack in Iraq since the handover of power to an interim government four weeks ago - a government the insurgents dont like any more than they liked the American occupiers before them

Golf course designer Lester George wants to build a 250 acre course on the old Saul Farm located on Pitzer Road in Mt. Pleasant.
At first, county leaders thought the entire land was already zoned agricultural and residential.
As a result, the golf course only needed a special use permit.
But the county now says 115 acres are zoned just agricultural, therefore, need to be rezoned.
