A computer company official says it was probably human error that caused a glitch that grounded American Airlines and U-S Airways flights from coast to coast this morning.

A U-S Airways spokesperson says the airline's flight-operation database *malfunctioned* and delayed about 100 flights.
An American spokesman says a similar problem affected the airline's flight plan system, grounding about 150 flights.
American had its planes back up after two hours, while U-S Airways needed another hour before getting its planes back in the air.

A fire that spread through a supermarket in Paraguay has killed at least 256 people.

Firefighters on the scene said the blaze started after there was an explosion of gas canisters in a kitchen.
Rescuers carried numerous bodies to the discotheque (Dis-ko-tech) across the street that is being used as a temporary holding place for the victims.
Officials on the scene say the death toll could rise by dozens more.
The disaster appears to have stretched the emergency services of one of South America's poorest nations.

Police say 85 year old Ruby Martin of Vinton was trying to cross Route 4-60, when she pulled her 1968 Ford in front of a Geo Storm.
She was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital where she later died. Police say she was not wearing her seat belt.
The driver of the Geo, 18 year old Michael Quesenberry of Thaxton suffered minor injuries.
Police say *heavy rain* and fog may have contributed to the accident.

A relatively new rescue discipline on the east coast, there are currently only three Swift Water Rescue Teams in Virginia - including one in Salem.
Now, Firefighters from Bedford and Rockbridge counties are going above their call of fighting fires to start their own teams.
Bedford County has been awarded a number of grants from the Department of Homeland Security to get their team afloat.
But, Rockbridge County firefighters, out of Buena Vista, have had to purchase their gear out of pocket and still need a boat.

((Iraqi Christians were attending Sunday evening services when a wave of bomb attacks hit churches in Baghdad and the northern city of Mosul. The first car bomb went off outside an Armenian church in a busy neighbourhood in Baghdad - where many Christians live.
The second attack was the deadliest - a suicide attacker drove into the parking lot of an Assyrian church in southern Baghdad and blew up the
car - just as worshippers were leaving the building.
SOUNDBITE (English) COLONEL MIKE MURRAY, U.S. ARMY: But these people were doing nothing but going about their daily lives. They were in the church for prayer when the car bomb went off.
SOUNDBITE (English) WOMAN SAYING: I've seen many people injured. Till now I didn't find my sister and her daughters because they were injured. I saw them as they were injured but I didn't find them till now. My father, I found him, he's okay.
The bombs in Mosul went off around the same time - in a clearly co-ordinated wave of attacks.

This is the first time churches of the Christian minority have been directly targeted. But Iraqi Christians have been the victims of kidnappings and attack. And many have already fled the country - concerned about rising Islamic fundamentalism.
The Christian community in Iraq is tiny - it accounts for just three per cent of the 24 million people who live here. But its an affluent community - a perfect target for organized criminals.
Under Saddam Hussein, Christians were allowed to worship freely - now many are concerned that will change as the stricter Shiite muslim

At lap 53, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. still suffering from those burns to his legs, gave way to John Andretti who brought the 8 car home in 25th position.
Later, Tony Stewart got loose right in front of Kurt Busch. Stewart smacked the outside wall before coming back across the track in front of traffic. Stewart was done for the day, finishing 35th.
Johnson led 124 of the 200 laps in this one. He held off Mark Martin for the checkered flag. Martin has now finished as a bridesmaid 6 times at Pocono. Johnson leads his teammate Jeff Gordon by 232 points.

Last night, 36-year-old Juliette Rizzo of Maryland was crowned this year's Miss Wheelchair America.
The goal is to promote awareness of people with disabilities.
Rizzo is currently the Director of Communications for the U-S Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services.
She was afflicted with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma and fibromyalgia.
