For two weeks, residents thought they had some kind of monster on their hands.
But now that they have captured it, they know otherwise.
The mystery creature turned out to be a red fox.
Its small face, long tail, and a severe case of the scabies made it difficult to identify.
It was captured over the weekend using a cage and a sirloin steak.
Authorities believe the creature can be treated and released into the wild, but they warn another one may still be loose in the neighborhood.
