Blake was born in January and as you might imagine Jason was anxious to see his son for the first time but he would have to wait longer than expected.
Weather problems delayed his flight into Roanoke.

Sixty-six-year-old Gale Nettles was released from prison last year. Prosecutors say he never actually had materials to make a truck bomb. When he was arrested, the pickup he was in contained fertilizer -- but not the volatile ammonium nitrate he allegedly thought he'd bought. Authorities say Nettles had planned to sell the chemical to terrorists who would blow up the federal building. They say Nettles wasn't working with any other groups but had asked about contacting al-Qaida and Hamas.

General Motors is recalling nearly all of its Saturn VUE sport utility vehicles.

The recall affects more than 246-thousand VUE's from 2002 through 2004. Saturn says it will strengthen the VUE's suspension. Last month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the left-rear suspension failed on the four-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive vehicles during a 45-mile-an-hour test that includes a sharp turn. Both times, a wheel collapsed beneath the vehicle.

The Lynchburg fire department and Centra Health announced today a deal that will allow firefighters to spend six days training inside the 300-thousand square foot structure.
Fire officials say it's a great opportunity for them to practice rescue and fire suppression techniques without worrying about damaging a building.

Recent reports are saying that six square miles of protected mountain land in the Virunga National park have been cleared. The land was under protection to ensure the survival of the gorillas in that area. Currently their population stands at 700 in the world, and this intrusion into their land will not help that number to grow. The destruction of the habitat could also hurt the two million dollar tourist trade that the gorillas provide to that war-torn area of Rwanda.
