Blacksburg Police are investigating 23-year old Timothy Andrew Darnall in connection with four sexual assaults.
The Blacksburg man was arrested on an unrelated breaking and entering charge and has been released on bond. But, arrest papers list him as a "person of interest" in several unsolved Peeping Tom, breaking and entering and fondling cases.

Police say last month a man entered unlocked apartments in the northeast section of town and fondled women as they sleep. It happened four times at the Terrace View and Oak Bridge apartments off Progress Street. Police say the investigation is still ongoing, but Darnall has NOT been eliminated as a suspect.

24-year old Melissa Lynn Blankenship, her boyfriend-- 20 year old Ryan Jackson Craft and 22 year old Ryan Clay Gilmer all face numerous charges including abduction and carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Police say Blankenship-- who was a family friend-- picked up the 14 year old girls to go four-wheeling in the mountains. Instead, they ended up at Blankenships apartment on Wenonah Avenue where police say the girls were drugged and sexually assaulted. Bond was set at 35-thousand dollars for Blankenship. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December.

Four people were killed and seven injured in an accident at a nuclear power plant in Japan.

The accident is being blamed on a lack of cooling water but officials stress that there was no radiation leak and no danger outside the building. A police official says two survivors injured by the 500-degree-plus steam are in critical condition. Japanese T-V reports officials have found a hole in a condenser pipe.
Today's accident is being described as the worst ever at a Japanese nuclear plant. Japan gets up to 30 percent of its electricity from nuclear power.

Shalikashvili served as the Chariman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Clinton Administration.

In 1983 he became Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Explorer at the BOTTOM of the class.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the Sport Trac Four-by-Two and its twin the Mercury Mountaineer are the worst on the road with nearly a 35 percent chance of rolling over in single car crash.
Ford's smaller SUV--the Escape 4 by 2 had nearly a 24 percent chance of turning over in an accident and the Chevrolet Tahoe 4 by 4 could flip 26 percent of the time.

TOP OF THE CLASS....the Chrysler Pacifica four by four was viewed as the safest SUV with only a 13 percent chance of rolling over in single vehicle crash.

Of the trucks---Toyota's Tacoma 4 by 4 extended cab was the

worst....with a 28 percent chance of rolling over.
And in the car wars, all the stars went to the Mazda RX-8 four door. It was the only vechicle to get a five star rating with just an 8 percent chance of rolling over in a car crash.

Wray made more than 100 movies in her career, but it was in the hand of the giant ape that she will be best remember.
She said it took her 30 years to get over the resentment she felt for the movie that made her famous.
In a career that began in 1923, Wray worked with such actors as Spencer Tracy, Gary Cooper and Ronald Colman.
She complained that women's roles in the 1930s often required nothing more than looking good.
Wray was 96 years old.

A town in southern Italy is trying to set a record for the longest sandwich.

It is taking an odd combination of bakers and construction workers to accomplish the feat.
Workers with cranes put the 23 hundred foot sandwich on a conveyor belt for assemblying.
The massive sandwich was stuffed with 33 hundred pounds of meat. It was cut into 19 thousand pieces which were sold to make money for charity.
It took 50 people, 24 hours to build. It's not mentioned if the workers on the project brought their lunch with them.
