Two Wythe County teens accused of first degree murder will be tried in adult court. A judge certified the charges to a grand jury today against 15 year old Nakisha Waddell and her 16 year old friend Anastasia Belcher.

The two are accused of killing Waddell's mother, Vaughne Thomas, in her Max Meadows home.

Construction on Colonial Down's off-track betting parlor is moving full-steam ahead. The 15-thousand square-foot facility is going up at Vineyard and Niagara roads. The building should be complete in October. Initially off track betting hit some public opposition- but it ended up moving forward after voters and the state approved it. The industry is expect to bring about 200-thousand dollars in revenue into Vinton. (------------)
