A second round of layoffs at Dan River Incorporated in Danville will cost about 375 textile workers their jobs.

Dan River blames declining sales - for the closing of a finishing and sheet sewing facility in the Schoolfield Complex.

The layoffs will take effect in early October.

The conversations took place just days after Peterson's wife, Laci, disappeared.

Earlier this year, city officials tested residents' well water, after learning that an old landfill was leaking contaminants into the ground.
Although officials say the problem was corrected, many were still worried.
So, today the city conducted a SECOND round of testing to assure them the water is safe.
Officials say they are still looking into the idea of adding a new water line, even though they say it could take several months before that happens.
