Forecasters say one of the worst things about Hurricane Charley may be a storm surge that pushes ocean water into parts of Downtown Tampa and MacDill Air Force Base.

Some 800 thousand people along Florida's coast have been told to evacuate their homes from the Florida Keys to Tampa Bay.
Charley is expected to pass west of the Keys tomorrow morning- and then hit somewhere between Naples and Tampa with high winds, heavy rain, tornados and a potentially dangerous storm surge.

The area's only swift water rescue team expects flood-related dangers to run through Saturday. A handful of the Salem emergency responders checked inventory, prepped equipment and topped off boat fuel this morning. They say most calls are to rescue drivers who've tried to cross flooded roads. One lieutenant says a typical family car will float in two feet of water. He also warns boaters to be careful when heading into creeks and rivers *after* the storm because water levels may have changed dramatically.

Today, the governor announced a 34 percent increase in the reimbursement hospitals and doctors receive from MedicAid.

Researchers interviewed nearly 5-thousand 11 to 18 year olds and found that the more meals they shared with their parents, the less likely they were to smoke cigarettes or pot, drink alcohol, get bad grades, be depressed and think about suicide or attempt it.
