In fact, Brooks is not even on campus, but instead he is at home with his family in Woodbridge.
During his conference call this afternoon, UVa coach Al Groh said the following - "There are some personal issues that Ahmad is dealing with. I have been in contact with the family and we are in complete compliance about the situation."
Groh would not say when Brooks would be back with the team, or if he would be available for the first game.
Today's Washington Post says that Groh and Brooks got into an argument on Monday.
Ever since the start of practice last week, Brooks hasn't been wearing the orange jersey that signifies a starter.
Instead his place in the starting lineup has been taken by senior Rich Bedeson.
