Investigators say they now believe a woman blew herself up earlier this week.

The fatal explosion happened Sunday night at a Franklin County campground.
Shanda Hanger was killed and her ex-husband was injured when her Ford Explorer burst into flames.
Investigators say the interior of the vehicle was saturated with flammable liquid, and they now believe she was responsible for the explosion that took her life.

Yeatts says it could be several weeks before the city hears back from the federal government. Meantime, city crews are still working 12-hours a day picking up debris. At one time 10-thousand customers were without power. That number's now fewer than 10.

Workers have less than a month to get Roanoke's new Y-M-C-A in order.

Construction continues on the new facility at the corner of Fifth Street and Church Avenue. The Kirk Family YMCA is almost complete.
Yesterday, workers painted lines on the basketball court, while artist Michael Cooper finished five colorful murals.
The two pools are filled with water, and officials say the new Y will open on schedule, Monday September 13th.

Radford just finished building a new walking and biking trail -- and now it's already doing more work to it.

When the project was completed in May, city leaders still had some money left. Crews are now extending the bikeway and walkway another few hundred feet and adding a parking lot near Wildwood park.
The new project will take about 30 days to complete. The whole trail cost about 1-point-2 million dollars, with most of the money coming from grants. The city plans to apply for more grants in the future to add yet another mile to the trail.

A handful of people started the process in January and discovered more than 200-family names. There isn't a lot of documentation from the 1800's- so the group relies on stories from the elders in the community.

The search for a fugitive from Franklin County has ended in El Paso, Texas.

Authorities have been looking for 39- year- old Hasan Ali Muhammed since August eighth.

He was wanted in connection with a shooting that sent his niece to the hospital.
An extensive search in the Hardy area failed to bring him in, and today Franklin County authorities confirmed he had been picked up by U.S. Customs officials in El Paso.

A Halifax County man will likely be executed tonight.
James Bryant Hudson killed three of his neighbors over a driveway dispute.

Hudson pled guilty last year to the murders of Walter Stanley Cole and Thomas Wesley Cole.

The victims were brothers.
Hudson also killed Tom Cole's wife, Patsy.
The slayings took place in July, 2002.
According to the Attorney General's office, Hudson is not contesting his death sentence.
And he has instructed his attorney not to file any appeals.

Animal control officers raided the home of George and Susan Reedy yesterday morning, after a neighbor complained that their animals were being neglected. Officers took the Reedy's seven pets -- four dogs, and three cats -- which they say were living in poor conditions. But, the Reedy's say they're just two disabled people who have little money, and big hearts for their pets.

Yesterday, the board of supervisors approved a plan to expand the high school's stadium. Officials say the two-point-seven million dollar project will add more than 28-hundred new seats, a new locker room, and a press box double its current size. They also expect to add disability- approved paved walkways and ramps. Officials hope to begin construction in March, and finish by August 2005, in time for school. (------------)
