A warm spring and a wet summer have led to an early, bountiful harvest for apple growers in Virginia.
Some varieties are already being picked, about two weeks earlier than usual.
Growers say warm days, cool nights and consistent rainfall have made for an ideal climate for apples.
The rain has been particularly appreciated by growers, who have fought a drought for the past four years. And last year, HAIL
bruised their fruit.
Although growers expect a *robust* harvest, prices of apples are expected to stay the same.
Virginia ranks sixth in the nation in apple production.
