A four year old boy accidentally shot and killed himself in Roanoke today.
Police say the child was sitting in the front seat of a car on Linwood Road when he found a gun inside the vehicle. It went off and the boy was killed.
The child's father was standing outside the car at the time of the shooting talking to another person.
Police have not released the child's name or the names of his parents.
In Appomattox County tonight, authorities say a father shot his son. Deputies say they had been arguing in the Redhouse section of the county when the father shot his son in the leg with a shotgun. The father has been taken into custody and the son was taken to the hospital. There has been no word on his condition.
